In simple terms a CMS is like a word processor attached to your web site. This allows anybody in your organization to update your text on your site, add images, create new pages etc. At Loaded we don’t just offer a one size fits all solution. We have experience across a number of solutions depending on your requirements:
Dotnetnuke. This is by far our most popular offering. It is the world’s leading open source content management system built on .net technology. and adopted by thousands of organisations worldwide. Dotnetnuke has all the powerful features you would expect from a market leading content management system and some that many of its commercial competitors have yet to develop. Because of its modular architecture it comes into its own when adding features to your site, like adding a forum, blog, events calendar or one of the thousands of commercially available modules in the market place. Best of all, because Loaded is expert in this platform we are been designing customer modules for some time now so if a module is not available then we can build one.
If you would like more information about Dotnetnuke check out the many resources on the web or call us to discuss on 1300 LOADED.
Verve by Lateral Systems. For large organization with many content contributors and Verve is an excellent solution. Verve is a high end content management system that has all the features you would expect from the best in class proprietary system. Some of the key features are:
A flexible workflow process for content publishing. Included in the workflow is a comprehensive audit trail of changes which provides a valuable historical record of what has been edited. Non technical administrators can quickly and easily manage and manipulate the business rules that define any workflow. Unlike some competing products, the workflow processes are easily edited from within the system.
Hierarchical content folders with permissions to allow for extreme flexibility in restricting users to the desired actions and simplifying their view of the content store to their own area of responsibility. A full history is maintained for all content changes as well as status changes such as workflow progression, publishing and archiving. This history can be viewed at the user or content object level. The system caters for roll back enabling any individual page to be rolled back at any time.
An out of the box shopping cart functionality. This would be ideal for the online booking system required in the future. Verve does not restrict the type of objects that may be ordered and purchased online. A “product” can be a ticket for an event just as it can be a T-shirt with varying sizes or membership/hospitality package.
Verve is architected for high performance delivery, and has been successfully used in Server farm environments on extremely high traffic sites such as the ARU during the 2003 World Cup. The live site is entirely separate to the database, so this common bottleneck is immediately avoided. The live site is generated dynamically using ASP to render published XML content using XSLT.
The Verve system runs on a Microsoft environment. It is often hosted by our clients but equally can be hosted as an Application Service Provider model.
